Article 1. How we ask for consent

1. 1.1. On your first visit you see a notice at the foot of the page with two equivalent buttons: accept and refuse. Both choices sit on the same layer and take one click.
2. 1.2. We do not tick anything for you. As long as you have made no choice, we load no measurement tools.
3. 1.3. The notice does not block the website. If you ignore it, you can use the site as normal and we measure nothing. We do not use a cookie wall.
4. 1.4. Your choice applies to this website and to both of its languages.

Article 2. Necessary: remembering your cookie choice

1. 2.1. As soon as you accept or refuse, we record that choice in a single cookie in your own browser. Without it we could not respect your choice and the notice would reappear on every page.
2. 2.2. That cookie contains only which version of this policy you saw, whether you allowed statistics and advertising, and when you decided. It holds no name, email address or anything else that identifies you.
3. 2.3. No consent is needed for this cookie: it is strictly necessary to carry out the choice you asked for.
4. 2.4. We use session storage once, to carry the campaign parameters from an advertising link through your visit. We only do that if you have allowed statistics and advertising, and it disappears when you close the tab.

Article 3. Statistics and advertising: only after your consent

1. 3.1. For statistics and advertising measurement we use Google Tag Manager, the container in which our Google measurement tags are managed.
2. 3.2. We only load that container after you have consented. If you refuse, or make no choice, nothing is loaded from Google for this purpose and so no Google measurement cookies are placed.
3. 3.3. If you do consent, we set the Google consent signals for analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation to granted. Without your consent all of these signals are set to denied.
4. 3.4. We use this measurement to see which pages help visitors and which advert leads to an enquiry. We do not use it to identify you personally and we do not sell data.
5. 3.5. If you withdraw consent, we delete the Google cookies from your browser, set the consent signals back to denied and reload the page so that the container really is no longer active.

Article 4. The map on the contact page

1. 4.1. The contact page carries a Google Maps map showing where our business is located. We do not put that map behind the cookie notice, so that visitors can always find us.
2. 4.2. When that map loads, Google may place or read its own cookies in your browser and receives your IP address. These are Google's cookies, not ours: we have no access to them and we do not read them.
3. 4.3. We are explicit about this because it is the only place on this site where a third party is contacted without your consent. If you would rather avoid it, do not visit the contact page, or block Google scripts in your browser. Our address, telephone number and email address also appear as text in the footer of every page.

Article 5. Changing or withdrawing your consent

1. 5.1. At the foot of every page there is a Cookie preferences button. It reopens your choice so that you can adjust or withdraw it.
2. 5.2. You can withdraw consent at any time, at no cost, and it is as easy as giving it. Withdrawing has no effect on your use of the website: every page, the quote form and the contact details keep working in full.
3. 5.3. We keep your choice for six months, after which we ask again. If we change the categories we ask consent for, we also ask again.

Article 6. Deleting or blocking cookies yourself

1. 6.1. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser. It works slightly differently in each one, but it is usually under Settings, under Privacy or Cookies.
2. 6.2. If you delete our choice cookie, we no longer know your choice and the notice reappears. That is not a fault: without that cookie we cannot know what you decided.
3. 6.3. You can also set your browser to always refuse third-party cookies. The map on the contact page will still work, but Google will not be able to place a cookie.

Article 7. Legal framework and supervision

1. 7.1. The rules for cookies are set out in article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act, the Dutch implementation of the European ePrivacy Directive. It determines when consent is required.
2. 7.2. The GDPR determines when consent is valid: freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, and always capable of being withdrawn.
3. 7.3. The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens supervises this and has published nine rules of thumb for a sound cookie notice. We have built our notice around them.
