Value and comfort
More than a lower energy bill
Triple glazing reduces cold radiation and draught around the window and helps soften noise from outside. This everyday comfort benefit is separate from energy savings and cannot honestly be reduced to one euro figure.
Research by NHG and Brainbay shows that broad insulation packages add value for many homes. It did not examine window frames in isolation, so we do not calculate a personal value increase or promise an energy-label jump.
Kadaster finds that a demonstrably better energy label is associated with sale value, while location, property type, floor area and age also weigh heavily. New frames may contribute to a better label; only a certified assessor can issue that label.

For 6 m² changing from single glazing to an insulating frame with triple glazing, Milieu Centraal gives an annual gas saving of about 80 m³. That is 13.3 m³ per m². For ordinary double glazing to the same new specification, the figure is 30 m³, or 5.0 m³ per m².
The tool combines both areas and displays a 25% range around the outcome. That margin is a cautious Soleca convention, not an official statistical confidence interval.
For a fully electric heat pump, we convert the gas benchmark to heat demand using the official lower heating value of 31.65 MJ (8.79 kWh) per m³ of natural gas. We divide that by the average measured SCOP of 3.5 in RVO's installation monitor. This remains a modelled conversion, so the range still applies.
Different assumptions are needed for HR or HR++ starting points, district heating, other heat sources and glazing-only work. The tool deliberately makes no estimate in those cases. A final decision requires a survey, product specification and tailored quotation.

Why does the calculator show a range?
Energy savings are not exact. Heating habits, rooms heated, orientation, ventilation, weather and installation all affect the outcome. A range is therefore more honest than one precise amount.
Why does the page focus on triple glazing?
Soleca uses triple glazing for virtually every complete frame replacement. It insulates very well and, with new frames, may qualify for the higher Dutch ISDE amount.
Can I calculate how much value this adds to my home?
Not reliably from frames alone. New insulating frames may improve comfort, appearance and the energy label, but property value also depends strongly on location, type, area, maintenance and the complete energy specification.
