What you save
Where the savings come from
New frames pay you back in two ways: the maintenance that timber frames demand disappears, and you heat less because the glazing and profile hold the warmth inside.
Timber frames need repainting outside every five to eight years, and sooner on the sunny or weather-facing side. Skip a round and rot follows, at which point repair costs a multiple of what painting would have. uPVC frames never need painting; water and a mild cleaner are enough. Across the life of a set of frames, that is several painting jobs you no longer schedule and no longer pay for.
The second saving is insulation. Single glazing and older double glazing let a lot of heat through, and with old frames more warmth escapes around the joints. With triple glazing in a well-insulated frame you notice the difference in the draught by the window, the noise from outside and how long the heating stays on. How much gas you save depends on your current glazing, the square metres of glass, the type of home and how you heat it; Milieu Centraal publishes current worked examples per property type. We would rather not quote a figure we cannot guarantee — but the quotation states exactly which insulation value you get.

Colour, texture and window type
The appearance is determined by more than the profile alone. We match the colour, woodgrain, window layout and operation to your home and how you use each room.
On colour you are not limited to a short standard list: every RAL-certified colour is available. Cream, white and anthracite are chosen most often, but if you want the frames to match a specific colour on your home, that is possible.

For new frames, HR++ and triple glazing are the relevant choices. We assess each room to determine what best suits your insulation goals, local noise and existing façade.
HR++ glazing
High-performance double glazing, often suitable where triple glazing is not technically necessary or possible.
42 mm HR+++ glazing
Three panes with two insulating cavities. This is Soleca's standard for new window frames.
Specialist glazing
Solar-control, acoustic or safety glass where the location or use of the room calls for it.

What do new frames cost?
The price depends on the dimensions, window layout, glazing, colour and optional extras. A fixed window is usually more economical than a tilt-and-turn window with additional hardware.

What we look at for burglary resistance
With uPVC frames, quality and security go together. That is why we fit SKG**-rated locking hardware as standard. If you want the highest level of security available, you can choose SKG*** for a small additional cost.
Which measures make sense in your situation depends on where the frame is: a first-floor window at the back calls for something different from a front door on the street. During the advice appointment we go through this opening by opening.

What are the benefits of uPVC frames?
uPVC frames offer excellent insulation, are low-maintenance, durable, recyclable and available in a range of styles and colours. They improve your home's energy efficiency and withstand varied weather conditions.
How long do uPVC frames last?
The Aluplast uPVC frames we install are expected to last 50 years or more. With sound installation, normal use and periodic maintenance, their technical service life can reach around 75 years.
How much maintenance do uPVC frames need?
Very little. Regular cleaning with a mild detergent and water is usually sufficient. They never need painting and are resistant to rot and warping.
How well do uPVC frames insulate?
uPVC frames provide excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. They keep warmth in during winter and out during summer, resulting in lower energy costs and a more comfortable indoor climate.
Are uPVC frames burglar-resistant?
Yes. Our frames come with SKG**-rated locking hardware and reinforced profiles as standard. If you want the highest class available, SKG*** is possible for a small additional cost.
What does the installation process look like?
The process starts with advice at your home and precise measuring, followed by made-to-measure production. Our own specialists then carry out a neat, accurate installation. Most installations are completed within one day.

Are grants available for new frames?
